YYJ Vinyasa 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training

With Katie Thacker & Natalie Wright

2024 Dates Now Open for Registration

Whether you desire to teach yoga, or are simply looking to dive deep for your own personal growth, Yoga Teacher Training will change your life. The practice of yoga has existed for thousands of years and provides guidance on how to live a life filled with wellness and joy. This 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training will provide you the opportunity to discover yourself, to develop confidence, to learn practices of health, to hone your communication skills, to understand the anatomy of the body, to step into the role of the teacher, and so much more.

Katie & Natalie have a combined 24 years of teaching experience under their belts. Together they have mentored dozens of Yoga Instructors and have been involved with multiple Yoga Teacher Trainings.

In her nine years of teaching, Katie has amassed a loyal following of yogis all over the world in addition to her home studios in Victoria, BC. Decades of gymnastics, acrobatic practice, and yoga have provided her with a deep understanding of the necessary balance between flexibility, strength, and the functional applications to safely gain more of both. In the practice of asana, she focuses on educating students on their unique anatomy, proper muscular engagement, and progressive loading of the tissues to ensure safety, accessibility, and balance within the body. She strives to embody the 8 limbs of yoga into her daily life.

Natalie began her yoga journey just playing and exploring then decided to jump in and took the Moksha Yoga teacher training. After becoming more confident in her teaching, she was blessed to be able to take prenatal training while pregnant with her son and then the One Yoga training with Ryan Leier a year and a half later. She has also studied with Srivatsa Ramaswami, Fr. Joe Pereira, Nicki Doane, Eddie Modestini, Troy Hadeed, and Tina James. She tries to infuse each class with breath, joy, a sense of presence, and hopefully the ability to surprise yourself. As a student foremost, she bows to all her teachers, and works to always have a beginner's mind by learning both on and off the mat.

This training will cover the following topics:

  • Teacher Ethics

  • Asana and Postures

  • Pranayama & Mantra

The philosophy and tradition of the practice will be woven into every aspect of the training, with specific teachings from Natalie’s experience training with Srivatsa Ramaswami, a direct student of Krishnamacharya, and Father Joe, a direct student of Iyengar.

Each day will include elements of practice teaching to ensure that students leave the training feeling equipped and ready to teach right away. Those interested will be provided the opportunity to teach at either Third Space Movement or One Yoga Victoria.

It is recommended that you have been practicing yoga for at least 6 months before taking part in this training.
