Teaching Schedule

I teach a variety of classes each week in person in Victoria, BC at Third Space Movement and One Yoga Victoria. My schedule updates by the 22nd of each month for the following month. Scroll down to learn about the class types that I offer.

 

Class Types

  • The long game is a class for those who wants to be able to do the things they love for as long as possible. This class is one that promotes a longer lifespan AND a longer healthspan (the part of a person’s life during which they are generally in good health). This class is for all ages. This class is for anyone keen to take their health into their own hands and approach it from a preventative perspective.

    Katie will draw on elements from all of the modalities she teaches to provide an experience that benefits mind body and spirit.

    Each class will include:

    1. Mindset, Mental Health Component

    2. Mobility & Stability work including joint range of motion, joint stability, balance

    3. Strength Training: Focused on the main determinants of health longevity including grip strength, hinge strength, ability to get up off the floor, carrying strength, ability to lift the arms overhead, and more

    4. Connection to consciousness and spirit through breath work, mindfulness & meditation, consciousness study & self reflection

  • Think of this class as all of the movements your Physiotherapist or Chiropractor want you to do. It is active rehab. Functional Mobility is all about creating a greater usable range of motion by building space and strength in the tissues closest to the joints. Are you someone who tends to be hyperflexible and you desire greater stability and strength in you joints? This class is for you! Are you someone who tends to be tight and inflexible in your joints? This class is for you too!

    Whether you strength train, run, bike, swim, climb, work in an office or drive your car, chances are we got a move to enhance your performance. Commit to a regular mobility practice and we promise you will see great improvements in your performance.

  • The Jungle Gym is a class like no other. Invite in a sense of play, challenge your concept of movement, and explore new ways to build strength & stability. This class will include an extra focus on going upside down, along with elements of calisthenics, gymnastics, ring and bar work, and more. Technique work, drills and practice will help you build progressive strength and mobility that will enhance performance in complementary training like weights, running, biking, and climbing. Come with a willingness to work hard and play and be surprised by how much you are capable of!

  • From strengthening larger muscles to building stability in smaller ones, kettlebells are a highly effective training tool for improving total-body strength and conditioning. You will learn safe technique so you can progressively add load and move in and out of movement patterns for a challenging workout.

  • This is a vinyasa yoga class accessible for all levels of practitioner. Adhering to the principles of breath and alignment, basic postures will be presented with options to expand for those who are feeling it. Whether you want to turn your world upside down, fly, or get grounded, this class will work for you.

  • This is a vinyasa yoga class for those who are experienced with yoga. Vinyasa II offers space in which to play and explore. Asanas utilizing more strength and openness as well as a more vigorously structured class can be expected. Come with an open mind to play!

  • This is a 2 hour vinyasa level 2 yoga class that happens on the first Saturday of each month. The two hour format allows for us to explore deeper into the concepts of yoga, anatomy and spirituality. Vinyasa II offers space in which to play and explore. Asanas utilizing more strength and openness as well as a more vigorously structured class can be expected.

  • Private lessons are available in a 1-on-1 or small group setting for those looking for a more personalized experience. These lessons can include a range of movement modalities depending on your specific needs. Private lessons are a great choice for those looking to rehab injuries, or to reach a specific goal.
